Here's a bit about me, as interviewed by The Bulls of Durham

What inspired you to start your business?

Before embarking on my solopreneur journey,

I had a clear vision - to leverage my publishing background

to empower small businesses in their promotional endeavors.

With over a decade of experience in book publishing, I had

the privilege of spearheading book campaigns for renowned

celebrities such as Gladys Knight, the late Stephen Furst

(affectionately known as "Flounder from Animal House"),

and well-known chefs.

How long have you been in business?

I've been the one-woman force behind OfftheVinePR since 2010, and I've been the social media Director for LocalWineEvents.com for over 13 years.

How do you help your clients?

I'm here to assist with tasks that busy business owners may not have the time or expertise to handle but are crucial for their visibility and success. I have experience working with various social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X / Twitter / Threads, including Pinterest, which is an excellent search engine). Additionally, I specialize in crafting compelling content such as articles, newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and event promotions. I also enjoy brainstorming and generating innovative ideas with and for my clients.

Have you ever started your own online biz?

Yes! My husband Andrew and I began two award-winning online businesses (GoodtobeYou.com & Sparkle-Plenty.com) and I'm very proud of the 501(C)3 giving charity we founded in my Mom's honor, called Peg's Presents.  Peg's provides fun & and educational toys to children in need.

What do your clients tell you?

My clients are like family to me, and they tell me they see me as an indispensable team member.  They can rely on my expertise to create captivating content that's fresh, enjoyable, informative, and educational. I infuse it with a touch of personality, ensuring engagement from followers, fans, and customers while attracting future advocates. It's a relief for the busy business owner to delegate social media, which frees up tasks on their already extensive to-do list. By entrusting me with this task, they discover newfound hours in their day, and I love that.

What do you enjoy in your free time

When I'm not working on writing and social curation for my clients, I'll usually be attending classes (I'm currently enrolled in WSWT with the Capital Wine School). I love going for nature walks, visiting Duke Gardens, enjoying live jazz at the local club, or dancing to 80s tunes. Hosting/attending wine tastings with friends and family is another favorite pastime, whether it's at a wine shop, winery, or a good excuse for a small gathering at home. There's something special about savoring excellent wine, great company, and engaging conversations.

Where did you grow up before coming to The Bull City?

I was born and raised in New Jersey, and after living in

Alexandria, VA, and spending over a decade in Philadelphia,

I now proudly call The Bull City (Durham, NC) my home.

I live here with my husband Andrew and our two adorable

adopted Westie girls, Belle and Lily.

Additionally, I write humorous family stories on MEDIUM, so if you

happen to visit, do leave a comment so I know you popped by.

Anything else you would like to add?

I often wake up with new promotional ideas for my clients -- I like to say ideas dance in my head like sugarplums -- it's a blast!  ðŸ˜Š
